What is Proposition 65?
Proposition 65 officially The Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, is a law to protect drinking water sources from toxic substances which are known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Why does BIOSTAR place a Proposition 65 warning on website?
BIOSTAR strives to ensure conformity with all applicable laws, including Proposition 65. However, the warning does not mean that our products will necessarily cause any harm. Moreover, the Proposition 65 warning does not mean a product is in violation of any product-safety standards or requirements. In fact, the Warning is provided simply based on its knowledge about the presence of a listed chemical to allow consumers to assess their individual risk, without attempting to evaluate the exposure. We believe our products are not harmful when used as designed and we provide the warning in order to comply with this California right-to-know law.
